Okay. I have this story about hindu gods (Shiva, Vishnu & co) and I never never really think about their design. I have ideas and I knew what I don't want (like yeah having four arms is cool but... no) but no definitive design.
And yesterday, ploof, the divine light came and struck my brain. And Shiva was here, full colored. Life is beautifull.
I'm very happy how this one turns. It's just... him, like I imagine my own version of the god : totally androgyne, with distant expresion and more I couldn't tell here because explain a character out of his context is really hard.
Well, introduce to you Shiva, the one who possess the "third eye" and could destroy the World if he opens it. And Shiva being total dramaqueen, it will happen at the end of the story. Huhuhu. Don't mess with the Third Eye.

I love the colors you chose. I find that other people that have drawn their own version of Shiva, they use shades of blue...((prolly 'cause of FF, **shrugs**))

I like that you faded the hair as well. ^^ And the jewelry! XDD I'm a total jewelry freak. I'd love to have it hang all over me. ^^

*grins* About those four arms ... They did not actually have four arms, per say -- they were depicted as such in artwork to show how they were all powerful beings that could do many things at once. At least, that is what I was told in my art history class so ... Yeah. Makes it perfectly logical then that your version is depicted with only one set. Which, by the way, is gorgeous! I love the choice of that color scheme. :)

In my book, they told that shiva is all white because he belongs to the darkness/destruction. They told because he is all black inside, what we see of him is white. It's all about the ying and yang. Two opposite are always be a part of the same thing and white couldn't exist without black. Guess what ! Vishnu (who is light and life) is all black.
l like this idea that what we see is the opposite of what the thing is =p It's very poetic.
